Find and Fix Entries Requiring Map Placement

Entries that we believe to be correctly placed on the map have black markers. An orange markers means that it is 'somewhere near here', probably accurate to street or suburb level.

You can help turn orange markers into black by adding a more detailed address, or hand placing it on the map

There are 124806 live entries in Zenbu New Zealand, 5004 have orange markers.

The most intuitive way to help is to search for orange markers near your home or any other location where you are very familiar with the location of things.

Manual Search

To search for 'orange markers' that need fixing at any time or combined with other search criteria, add the following term to your search query string

&correctly_placed=0

If you wanted to restrict your search to 'black markers' use

&correctly_placed=1

If you wanted to restrict your search to 'blue markers' use

&correctly_placed=2

Pointers for Zenbu fixers

Try using the Satellite or Hybrid mode (buttons at top right of map) as an aid to locating stuff. Awesome for big things like golf courses! Sometimes the satellite photos can be misaligned so it pays to check they line up with the roads first by using the hybrid mode. If they don't, be super careful.
Street View can be a great tool for reminding yourself of what is where on the ground. The GPS accuracy of these images is often better than satellite.
If you're not 100% sure of the location, move it close and use an orange marker. Someone who is 100% sure can tweak it.
If an address is mapped poorly, you can either update the address or place it on the map. You may not know exactly where it goes on the map but you might be able to place it closer. For example the address

might have mapped to 'Auckland', that's Auckland Central! Wrong! I don't know where this shop is in LynnMall but I do know that LynnMall is in New Lynn so I would move it over to New Lynn on the map and select 'Around here' to make sure the marker stays orange.
That way the marker will be that much closer to someone who can help place it perfectly.
